Dr Martin J Platt MBBS FRCA FICCM. After training in London and the United States, I have been a consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at the Bristol Heart Institute and Bristol Royal Infirmary since 2004. I have held a number of posts in postgraduate education, and management roles in UHBristol. I have a subspecialty interest in operative echocardiography.  Married with 2 children, I enjoy winter sports and travelling.

Dr Ian Ryder MB ChB FRCA FFICM. After training in Bristol, the USA and Australia, I was appointed as a Consultant in 1996.  My clinical work at UHBristol NHS Trust includes cardiac anaesthesia and intensive care. In 2011 I was elected a Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. I have supported research in anaesthesia and have lectured at national and international meetings. Married with 5 children, away from work I particularly enjoy tennis and watching my children play sport.

Dr Alan Cohen Bsc (Hons) MBBS MRCP FRCA FFICM. I have been a Consultant Anaesthetist in Bristol since 1997. My main practice involves providing anaesthesia and post operative care for patients undergoing heart surgery. I have a particular interest in blood transfusion and coagulation, and have been Chair of the South West Regional Transfusion Committee. Away from medicine, I play golf, basketball and the guitar. 

 

Dr Stephen Linter MBBS DA FRCA. I am a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. After training in Newcastle upon Tyne, I  worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Victoria, Australia, before returning to the UK as a Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesia at the University of Southampton. I have previously held a Consultant post at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust. I am a Founder Member of the Bristol and Bath Real Tennis Club.

Dr Richard Bateman MBChB DMCC FCARCSI AFICM FCMI

I trained in anaesthesia in Southhampton and Sidney and was appointed as a Consultant in Cardiac Anaesthesia in Bristol in 2009. I also provide anaesthesia for Gynaecological and Plastic surgery. I am a member of the General Medical Council's Practitioners Tribunal service, and as a previously Commissioned Officer, I have a developing role in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Dr Amit Ranjan MBBS MD FRCA FFICM

I trained in Mumbai, Sheffield and London, specialising in Cardiac Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. I am the Lead Doctor for Critical Care at the Bristol Heart Institute. I Have an interest in regional anaesthesia and caring for patients undergoing new surgical modalities. Married with two young daughters, I enjoy badminton and cricket in my spare time.
